Fall 2024 Registration Starts Monday, March 18th

The Mesa Community Outreach Center offers non-credit English classes courses to help people communicate in English by developing listening, observing, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Prerequisite: CELSA placement test.

Steps to Enroll:

Step 1 Admission: Visit the Outreach Center to complete the Maricopa Community Colleges Application.

Step 2: Take the CELSA placement test in person at Mesa Community College, Monday - Thursday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Friday's 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Step 3: Pay your fees

The cost of the English non-credit course is $175.00.

Sign up for a tuition payment plan. If you do not secure your class with payment, you will lose the class when the system is updated. The maximum amount required is $40 ($15 registration fee plus a $40 down payment).

The number of monthly payments depends on the date you enroll in the payment plan and the class end date. Not all payment plans will extend to the end of the term.

Cash, check, money order, and/or credit/debit, are all acceptable forms of payment.

Refunds: All students who officially withdraw from the college or individual classes by the withdrawal deadline, will receive a refund based on the MCCD Official Refund Schedule. Deadlines that fall on a weekend or a college holiday will advance to the next college workday. (Course fees are refundable only if the student qualifies for a 100% refund).

Introductory Level: The overall purpose of this course is to supply beginning students with the following themes: classroom directions, imperatives, feelings, filling out a form, telling time, reading a schedule, days and months, day and night shifts, money, calculating sales prices, family members, employee information form, food, supermarket job ads, health, reporting sickness, colors, and clothes, dress codes, The home, asking about a rental, community, work activities, jobs, job interview skills

Basic I (A) - Level I: The overall purpose of this course is to supply low-intermediate students with the following themes: the classroom, introducing people, days, dates, and times, asking for help, family, leaving messages, home life, stating problems, community, giving directions, daily routines, asking for and offering help, shopping, making polite offers, food, confirming information, health, calling in sick, jobs, job interview skills, safety, preparing for emergencies, leisure, encouraging others

Basic I (B) - Level II: The overall purpose of this course is to supply high-intermediate students with the following themes: the alphabet, numbers, calendar, learning styles and tools, workplace introductions, feelings and weather, interrupting politely, household problems and repairs, asking about regulations, jobs, and job applications, talking about job skills, pay stubs, and the workplace, requesting a schedule change, phone bills and using phones, apologizing and making excuses, food containers and measurements, offering and asking for help, illnesses, and symptoms, clarifying instructions, banking, and ATMs, responding to requests, citizenship, and government, making polite commands, emergencies, and disasters, making an emergency call, recreation, and entertainment, asking for opinions

Basic II (A) - Level III: The overall purpose of this course is to supply low-intermediate students with the following themes: greeting others, parts of speech, study skills, and the U.S. educational system, expressing uncertainty, community involvement, expressing a preference, work environment, respond to feedback, job search, persuade, community involvement, express interest, recipes and cooking express uncertainty, banking, and money management, asking about a problem, health problems, and hospital, make and accept suggestions, car ownership, make a deal, crime, and community safety, sequence events, life events, respond to the news, civic rights, and responsibilities, describe possible reasons

Basic II (B) - Level IV: The overall purpose of this course is to supply high-intermediate students with the following themes: meeting and greeting others, word families, personalities and learning styles, asking for help to understand, news and current events, expressing an opinion, travel, and transportation, making suggestions, career planning, showing willingness, safety, asking for clarification, interpersonal skills, listening actively, finance and budgeting, building consensus at work, shopping, helping others, health and wellness, team skills, community involvement, disagreeing politely, renting and renters’ rights, helping others, achievements and leadership, responding to feedback.

El Colegio Comunitario de Mesa ofrece clases de Inglés de no-crédito, el cual ayuda a las personas a comunicarse en Inglés a través del desarrollo de las habilidades en escuchar, observer, hablar y escribir.

Pre-requisito: CELSA placement test

Pasos para inscribirse:

Paso 1: Admisón: Visite el Centro de extensíon para completar la solicitud para los colegios comunitarios de Maricopa.

Paso 2: Realice el exámen CELSA en persona en Mesa Community College, lunes a jueves, 8 am - 5 pm y viernes 10:00 am - 3:00 p.m.

Paso 3: El costo de las clases de Ingles es de $175.00

Regístrate para un plan de pago de matrícula. Si no asegura su clase con alguna forma de pago, perderás la clase cuando se actualice el sistema. La cantidad máxima requerida es de $ 40 ($15 de tarifa de inscripción más un pago inicial de $40). La cantidad de pagos mensuales depende de la fecha de inscripción en el plan de pagos y de la fecha de finalización de la clase. No todos los planes de pago se extenderán hasta el final del plazo.

Efectivo, cheque, giro postal y / o crédito / débito, son todas formas de pago aceptables.

Reembolso: Todos los estudiantes que se retiren oficialmente del colegio o de las clases individuales siguiendo el proceso de retiro, recibirán un reembolso basado en la Poliza Oficial del MCCD. Si la fecha cayera en un fin de semana o en un feriado, el plazo para retirarse será el primer dia hábil de trabajo. Básico II (A) - Nivel III: El objetivo general de este curso es proporcionar a los estudiantes de bajo-intermedio para hablar, comprensión oral, lectura y habilidades que les ayuden a ser más exitosos en sus puestos de trabajo y comunidad.
