Arizona Teachers Join National Rally to Raise Minimum Wages

While across the nation people turned in their taxes on April 15, another nation-wide event took place that could help minimum wage workers make Tax Day a lot easier next year. Teachers and minimum-wage workers flocked to the Arizona State University Tempe campus to rally in a national campaign called “Fight for $15.” Jodie Kay, an adjunct faculty member at Mesa Community College, is quoted. MCC education alumnus Anthony Graham is featured in NACCTEP News. He founded a leadership program for young men in northern Alabama called Ready yoUrself for the Future, also known as R.U.F.F. Their mission is to empower young men to become outstanding leaders in their home, school, and community. Avnet, Inc., a leading global technology distributor, announced today the 2015 winners of the Avnet Tech Games. Of the more than 200 students from universities and community colleges who competed in the games on Saturday, April 11 and in the virtual competitions, 31 students collected $1,000 scholarships.
