Before you start the FAFSA gather the following information:

  • your Social Security Number
  • your FAFSA ID
  • MCC's Federal School Code - 001077
  • your driver's license number, if you have one
  • your Alien Registration number, if you're not a U.S. citizen
  • your federal tax return and W-2 information (if applicable)
  • your spouse's federal tax return and W-2 information, if you're married
  • your parent's federal tax return and W-2 information if it's determined that you're a dependent student
  • your spouse's records of untaxed income, if you're married
  • your parent's records of untaxed income if it's determined that you're a dependent student

After FAFSA Submission

After your FAFSA has been received and processed by the Department of Education, you will receive an email with your Student Aid Report and potential eligibility. (This is NOT an award — you are not done yet). If you have been admitted to MCC, we will receive your FAFSA information in 3-5 business days. We use your FAFSA information to determine your financial aid eligibility and to determine if there are any other items (such as verification information) you must complete.
