Process to Order Office Supply Home Office Needs during COVID-19 - Remote Work Environment
Due to extension of the Chancellor’s work from home directive, an expansion of the allowable supply items to be purchased for home use has been made. In addition to the previous authorization that allowed headsets and other related items needed by faculty members to transition their curriculums to an online format, an allowance is now being made for some essential office supply items to be purchased. Purchasers have the options of having supplies delivered to campus for pick-up or shipped to a home address.
This exemption is intended for small dollar, highly consumable office supplies like notepads, pens, pencils, Post-it notes, etc. When placing orders for home use supplies, the least expensive and smallest quantity option available should be selected that will last you through the projected return date set by the Chancellor. This exemption does not extend to any non-office supply items that may be available from Staples like technology items, peripherals, cables, cleaning supplies, task chairs, etc.
This exemption will remain in effect until the Chancellor lifts the current restrictions. At that time, any remaining supplies, or items purchased during this period, must be returned to normal on-campus work locations. Following these procedures will help maintain transparency and fiscal accountability during this work from home period.
