Reading is essential for life in the modern world. Reading is the key to success in college and life in general. Be sure to make reading classes your first priority by putting reading first on your academic plan.
The Reading Program at MCC is designed to further your reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing skills. Our program teaches you phonics, vocabulary and comprehension skills. These courses include: RDG 071, RDG 081, RDG 095 and RDG 100/RDG 111/RDG 112/RDG 113.
Note: CRE 101 (Critical Reading) is the top level Reading course. It is required for many programs, and it is required to obtain an associate's degree. (English 101 or English 107 is a prerequisite class for CRE 101.)
Note: ESL (English Second Language) students need to take the CELSA placement test.
