The Music Business class, MUC293 Self-Promotion for the Music Industry, is designed to help students prepare a personal action plan and supporting materials to obtain an internship and/or paid employment in the music industry. With the guidance of industry-professional and Zia Records marketing specialist, Mary Papenhausen, students get direct feedback and support for starting out in their music industry careers.
MUC209 Music Industry Entrepreneurship, is geared to students who are interested in starting their own music business. Every aspect of the class is designed to provide personalized, step-by-step guidance on the path to designing, developing and launching a new music business. Students work on business and marketing plans, financial statements, financing options and more so that they can be prepared to launch a new venture by the end of the class.
Students who are ready to apply their learning in the real world will want to sign up for the MUC290AA Music Industry Internship class, offered by Record Label Owner and Artist Manager, Michael Zimmerlich of 80/20 Records.
