Regional FEMA Grant

VICC Regional AFG Grant 

The Regional Valley Training Alliance has been awarded the Assistance to Firefighters Grant on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security. This project provides incident command training and proficiencies in all types of urban, urban interface, and wildland emergency response. The VICC facility is able to create an engaging, immersive, simulation environment that successfully trains students to handle multiple emergency situations. Each participating department is part of the greater Phoenix Metropolitan Automatic Aid Response System and follows the guidelines of Volume 2, which are the regional Standard Operational Procedures.

Grant participants may attend the following workshops: 

  • MCI Multi-Patient EMS
  • Flow Paths 
  • Natural Disasters 
  • Big Box
  • May Day 
  • Mid-Rise/High-Rise 
  • Chief Officer 
  • Company Officer 
  • Incident Safety Officer 
  • Tactical Sets and Reps 
  • Blue Card Command Certification 
  • Blue Card Recertification 
  • Quarterly Training: 4 or 8-hour blocks

Class Enrollment: 

If your department is under a participating city in the AFG Grant, you can attend any of the aforementioned workshops with the approval of your training chief. This calendar shows workshops with participating departments only.  Please gain approval to attend these classes before contacting the VICC. As with all VICC classes, there must be a minimum of 6 participants in attendance in order to hold a workshop.
