Computer Information Systems, or CIS, lies at the intersection of technology and business. It includes hard-core, techie elements, like programming, database management, and systems analysis. But it also includes solid business practices and principles, like marketing, management, and accounting. In fact, CIS exists as a way for both to interact and share information.
Computer Information Systems is the application of technology in managing business and solving operational problems. In the CIS program you’ll learn how to design, develop, manage, and maintain business technology infrastructure and specify technology solutions to suit business needs. You’ll also learn to create webpages, construct dynamically driven websites with the use of databases, and much more.
A career in CIS allows you to work in just about any aspect of business in virtually any industry. If a business relies on technology for its success it relies on the expertise and creativity of CIS professionals.
