Why Blockchain Technology?

"The technology underlying blockchain is proving to be an effective tool for many industries. Data indicates the demand for employees with knowledge of blockchain technology will continue to grow as industries adopt this cutting-edge technology. By being the first community college in the state to offer this certificate, we are helping students position themselves to compete for high-wage, high-demand career opportunities.”
Sasan Poureetezadi, Mesa Community College Vice President of Information Technology

Student at computerBlockchain Technology courses are offered in a hybrid format to provide a flexible learning experience for working adults New Classes

Blockchain Technology/Networking Technology I (CIS109AM) is now offered at the MCCCD IT Institute in Mesa at MCC's Downtown Center and opens up 21 additional seats for those interested in Blockchain Technology.

Survey of Computer Information Systems (CIS105) provides an overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology and the role of computers in business and society.

Discussions of social and ethical issues related to computers and the exploration of relevant emerging technologies are addressed.

There are no prerequisites for these classes and both  are offered in a hybrid format providing a flexible and collaborative learning environment. Hybrid courses combine regularly scheduled in-person classroom meetings with online learning activities students can work on from home, the office, MCC lab, or wherever they access the internet.

To determine readiness for online learning, potential students are encouraged to take a free online preparedness survey. Survey results provide a detailed, comprehensive analysis of skill levels and provides resources to enhance abilities where needed.

Can I waive CIS 105 if I am already an IT expert?

YES! You will need to talk to the Chair or faculty member.
