Welcome to Fall 2020!

As we embark on a fall semester like no other, one thing that remains constant is our commitment to student success. This commitment has been clearly demonstrated through the incredible amount of creative problem solving that has been needed amidst the current pandemic to get us ready for a smooth and safe start to the semester.

A few important announcements and reminders:

  • Congratulations and welcome to Dr. Miguel Lucas who has been selected as Interim Dean of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences.

  • Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Advisor - Residential faculty interested in applying for this role can find more details on the Intranet post. Deadline for application submission is 5pm Wednesday, August 19.

  • Fall 2020 Kickoff Week - Be sure to review our Kickoff Week schedule and mark your calendars with relevant events. We particularly hope to see you at our virtual President’s Welcome Tuesday at 8am as well as at our Summit Thursday at 8am.

  • Campus Climate Assessment - The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council has shared the Executive Summary from the campus climate assessment that was conducted over the 2019-20 academic year. Recommendations provided will serve to guide college DEI efforts, which will require broad engagement of our college community and keep us focused on alignment with our new Mission, Vision, and Values.

Thank you for all you have done in preparation for this fall and for all you continue to do to serve our students, college, and community. As we continue to adjust to changing realities, know that you are not alone. Don’t hesitate to make use of available resources, and reach out to colleagues, tapping into your support networks. Remember, Thunderbirds, we’re in this together!

Wishing you a great start to the semester,
