Thank you to the many who attended the Return from Remote Working session on June 9, 2020. If you were unable to attend, a recording of the session is available at mesacc.edu/coronavirus/return/employees.
Our next Return from Remote Work session is scheduled to be held on July 21, 11 a.m. - noon. I hope you can join us!
Our employee COVID-19 Return from Remote Working page outlines our return to campus phases. Phase 2, which begins July 6, will see a minimal number of employees returning to work on campus, especially with COVID-19 cases increasing in Maricopa County.
Phase 3 is scheduled to begin August 3. We will continue to monitor the situation in Maricopa County, and we will communicate details and information as that date nears.
Let me be clear - decisions about whom returns to the MCC campus on August 3 are being managed by our college, and supervisors will be contacting employees about work arrangements in the coming weeks. If you have specific questions, please contact your department leaders.
We are well into Phase 1, which began Monday, June 15, with some Spring 2020 students welcomed back to complete on-campus, face-to-face components of their curriculum necessary to earn course credit. Prior to these classes beginning, we put in place physical distancing, face-covering protocols and sanitation stations to provide the safest on-campus experience possible.
MCC was contacted by a local agency to use our stadium parking lot as a site for a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site. All MCC facilities will remain closed. More information about this will be shared when it is available.
The pandemic landscape with its continually rising virus rates is exhausting. I know you understand we continue to adjust our progress of “returning to new normal” based on expanding scientific knowledge and fluctuating state and local guidelines and requirements.
Together, we stay Thunderbird Strong,
