Dear Community Friends and Colleagues,
As heightened concerns of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) evolves, I want to take this opportunity to provide you an update.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) made the decision to suspend in-person classes for our students through Friday, March 20, 2020. All online classes will continue as scheduled.
In the meantime, Mesa Community College faculty, staff, and administration will report back to work on Monday, March 16, 2020, and use the week to prepare for academic continuity for up to two weeks (possibly longer) in an online environment or alternative format. All other district and college operations and services will continue as usual until further notice.
Given the varying goals of our students, please know we are committed to ensuring student success through the continuation and completion of the Spring 2020 class schedule.
In addition to the suspension of in-person classes, all student activities and college events are postponed and student travel and study abroad have been suspended through May 15. Our fitness centers are closed, but our libraries will be open with reduced hours. From an on-campus facilities standpoint, we continue to follow all CDC recommendations to protect employees and others who may be on our campuses.
Thank you for your patience as we work through the changing landscape caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. We will continue to be proactive around student success, momentum and completion while taking necessary precautions in order to protect our community.
