Many of you have seen the Chancellor’s message from yesterday, 9/8/2020, outlining the Maricopa Community Colleges’ Return to Work Plan. One of the key elements communicated is, “There may be variation across our District” and that each College Leadership Team will develop plans specific to their environment and community.
At MCC, we intend to keep online enrollment and virtual student support as the default option for student services for the foreseeable future. We have established at both Red Mountain and Southern & Dobson one-stop centers for information, student wifi and computer access. With classes underway and the fall academic offerings already established, there is no need to shift faculty and staff models. We are reviewing options for opening access to our facilities in safe ways, but will not plan to return employees to consistent work on campus or to student facing-services on October 5, 2020.
Be assured that you will be given at least 3 weeks notice before you will need to return to campus full time. Your leadership team recognizes that many families are still balancing the impacts of COVID-19 on their daily lives, which is why we intend to continue offering flexible options for our students and employees while still meeting academic and college business needs.
Thank you for your commitment to our students and each other.
