Important Information for MCCCD Federal Work Study Employees

Dear Student:

You are a valued student and Federal Work Study employee of the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD). Our records indicate, you are actively participating in the Federal Work Study program at one of MCCCD’s colleges. The message below is very important information for you. If you are not an active Federal Work Study employee, please disregard this message.

The introduction of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought much concern to MCCCD’s colleges, students, staff, and communities, as well as across the nation. In order to best protect our students, faculty, and staff, we ask that all Federal Work Study students remain off campus until April 6, 2020. The extension of Spring break applies to all students taking in-person and hybrid classes. All online classes will continue as scheduled.

We understand these circumstances are beyond your control and the associated funding is critical to support your educational goals. As an active Federal Work Study employee, you will be paid for your scheduled work hours during the extended Spring break. As a reminder, all campus services will be open virtually (e.g., online, phone, or email) and you may seek them as needed. We simply ask that you do not report to your scheduled Federal Work Study shift until April 6, 2020.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact your immediate supervisor or financial aid office. This guidance ONLY applies to your Federal Work Study scheduled hours. If you are employed in any other capacity at one of the colleges (i.e., regular part-time employee), you are expected to report to work as scheduled for the week of April 6, 2020.

Thank you for participating in MCCCD’s Federal Work Study program.
