COVID-19 - Confirmed Case at MCC

Dear MCC Colleagues,

Hello. It was only a matter of time, and that time has come.

A member of our community has tested positive for COVID-19. If you were identified as someone who has been in contact with, or in close proximity to, any individual who has tested positive for the virus, you will be notified. We will follow this process for any subsequent staff, faculty or student who may test positive for the virus. We will not notify you of every occurrence, as the communication could become overwhelming. If interested, the District is tracking the numbers and is developing a webpage for reporting them.

As a reminder, please be aware of the symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop symptoms, please call your healthcare provider.

While we work continually to maintain the health and well-being of our community, we also must safeguard the privacy of the individual who is ill and allow them to focus on their health. Please respect their privacy and avoid speculation and rumors.

We will continue to practice social distancing and other measures to reduce the risk of infection and the spread of the virus throughout our community.

We know this news is distressing. Our College and employees are committed to protecting our community and supporting these individuals through this challenging time. Please do not hesitate to seek the support and resources offered through our Employee Assistance Program and other benefits programs.

Thank you for all you are doing to continue offering our students an outstanding learning environment. Please continue to take care of yourselves and one another.

Sincerely,

Lori M. Berquam, Ph.D.
Interim President
