Sacred & Spiritual: Songs to Uplift the Spirit! presented by Arizona Cantilena Chorale

We will be performing music set more specifically for reverberant spaces: The hauntingly beautiful “Agnus Dei” by Samuel Barber, the lovely and serene “Bogoroditse devo (Ave Maria)” by Sergei Rachmaninoff, the lush and warm “Ave Maria” by Franz Biebl. These classics will be followed by two songs commissioned for royal weddings. “Let the People Praise Thee O God” was written for the wedding of Charles and Diana by William Mathias, and “This is the Day” was the majestic wedding anthem for the wedding of William and Kate, penned by John Rutter. All of this and more, including several spirituals arranged by Moses Hogan, Alice Parker and Robert Shaw. We hope you can join us for this concert of wonderful sacred music.
