Jeff Darbut joined Mesa Community College as Vice President of Administrative Services in June 2011. His areas of responsibility include Fiscal Services, Human Resources, Maintenance & Operations, Public Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, and Property Control.
Jeff has more than 30 years of financial and administrative expertise from his leadership roles at Fortune 1000 companies, mid-sized private equity-owned businesses, and start-up businesses. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Finance and Operations for the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University and is a co-founder of Espis Vaccines, LLC, an early stage ASU spin-out company.
Jeff’s broad range of experience includes strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, new business development, and information technology. His assignments have included the implementation of new enterprise resource planning systems, creating forward-looking information flows and processes to provide early warning about critical issues, and building strong teams that partner with management.
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh, and an Associate of Science in Accounting degree from the Allegheny County Community College, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Jeff is a member of the Financial Executive Institute, the Institute of Management Accountants, the National Council of University Research Administrators, the Finance Leaders Association, and the ASU Alumni Association.
Although Jeff was born and raised in Pittsburgh and lived in eight different cities, he has lived in the Valley of the Sun for 20 years and now considers that his home.
