  • Edward has a background of acting in the theater, worked in radio, had parts in films (Highwayman), T.V. (Heart to Heart), and he also had a modeling career!

  • Edward worked for many years as a pastoral counselor before getting his master's degree in social work.

  • Edward's focus is on strengthening family unity, and in providing individual and family therapy, particularly in the area of chemical dependency.
  • Edward finds satisfaction in helping people access resources, and helping them - at their initiative - to solve their own problems. He thinks that social work is a great career for students who have skills in communicating with others and who are oriented toward personal growth, and facilitating that process in others.
  • Edward is also mindful of the need for social workers to take care of themselves to avoid burnout, and that job satisfaction can be impeded when one does not always get immediate feedback about the impact that one has had.

  • Edward would like to see more substance abuse resources allocated to families, such as more programs in schools and for adults in the community giving information about the short term and long-term effects of substance abuse.

  • He would also like to see programs that address coping skills, and appropriate communication, nurturing and disciplining skills for parents.
