CLASS OBJECTIVE: Review of essential grammar of the Spanish
language and of Spanish-speaking cultures and continued practice and
development of reading, writing, and speaking skills. Emphasis on fluency and accuracy in spoken
Spanish. CLASS POLICIES, ETC. (SUBJECT TO CHANGE) 1.
Attendance and participation.
Your attendance and punctuality are essential for success. You are expected to attend all sessions and
be prepared to participate (active participation is required). If you are absent and I don't hear from
you, your absence is an "unexcused" absence. Refer to page 18 of the Catalog 2003-04. With One unexcused absences, the
instructor may initiate an official withdrawal. 2.
Assignments. a. Workbook/
Lab Manual. It contains exercises
related to each lesson. Each lesson
must be completed by the time the corresponding test is given. b. Homework. You will be given assignments each day to
help you internalize the material that has been presented in class, and to
familiarize you with the next day's work.
These materials will be corrected in class. You must keep a folder of the assignments. Date each assignment. The folder will be turned in the day of
each test. d. NO
EXTRA CREDIT will be offered in this course. 3.
Tests. a. Six tests (pruebas) will be given at the end of each lesson. NO MAKE-UP TESTS will be given. b. There will be a
comprehensive oral and written final exam.
Students must take the final examination at the scheduled times. 4. Literatura a. There will be literature readings for
each lesson. A quiz (6 total) will be given for each lesson's reading(s). 5. Language Lab. Students are required to do
one hour of lab work (in the foreign language lab –AS110) every two weeks
beginning the week of February 2nd. The lab is monitored by a lab technician
and is open from TESTING POLICY:
Students should exhibit the qualities of honesty and integrity. Any form of dishonesty, cheating,
fabrication, or plagiarism may make you subject to disciplinary action. (See pages 20-21, Catalog 2003-04) WITHDRAWALS,
INCOMPLETES, and F's: Policy set forth in MCC catalog, page 18,
will be followed. If an "F"
is earned, it will be given.
"D's" are not given instead of "F's" because the
student is on probation, on scholarship, or any other reason. The
last day for a student's initiated withdrawal is July 15. Make sure that you take care of the paper
work necessary for any type of class withdrawal. This is the student's not the instructor's
responsibility. Students who do not
follow the outlined procedure may receive a grade of "F" for the
semester |
