Requirements

Weekly article summaries, questions and discussions (10 points), 5-7 Composition book assignments (5 points each) 2 critical argument papers (30, 45 points), several group assignments (10-25 points each). You are expected to be prepared for class each day by completing the readings, summaries and questions and to participate in class discussions and assignments. You are expected to maintain academic honesty and attend classes as noted below. Plagiarism of any kind will result in a failing grade for the course.

All students are required to have regular, dependable internet access with printer capabilities. MCC students must have an MCC email account. All students must email me within the first week of class and are required to check their email regularly to retrieve reading and course materials, graded papers and announcements. All course work sent by email (only allowed for RDM students) must be submitted at least 1 hour before class meets. Assignments not sent on time will be counted as missing and will not be graded for points. Final grades for all MCC courses are only available online through the MCC portal. You must have an active MCC account to access the portal and WebCT.

All students must have a folder or a 3 ring binder to keep class materials, graded assignments, printouts, handouts, etc. for the semester. This binder and a composition book along with your book or relevant handouts/printouts should be brought to each class period. Please keep all graded assignments until the end of the semester to insure all grades have been correctly recorded. Grades will not be changed without original papers. RDM students should print out all graded assignments and keep them in the binder. In addition, you must keep an email copy of all assignments sent to me by email in order to confirm the date and time they were originally sent. I would suggest that you send all assignments with a reply requested and that you check your email to make sure I received your email and attachment. If you don't receive your graded assignment back when I announce I have sent them, please let me know immediately so I can resend it.
