I currently teach two distance learning courses with their accompanying labs: Introduction to Statistics (PSY230) and Research Methods (PSY290). If you are interested in viewing a sample from each of the courses please click on the appropriate link located to the left. Keep in mind that these are very simple samples. The course is continuously updated and contains more interactive components. These samples give you a "little flavor" for how the course is organized. You will not have access to quizzes or exams through the samples listed here.
The objective of the online statistics course is to introduce you to basic concepts in descriptive and inferential statistics, with emphasis upon application to psychology. Consideration given to methods of data collection, sampling techniques, graphing of data, and the statistical evaluation of data collected through experimentation. The prerequisites for this course are PSY101 (Introduction to Psychology) with a grade of "C" or better and MAT092 (Introduction to Algebra) or equivalent, or permission of instructor.
The objective of the online research methods course is to teach you how to plan, execute, analyze, and write a psychological research report. You will survey the literature, procedures, and instruments in representative psychological research. The prerequisite for this course is PSY230 (Psychological Statistics) with a grade of "C" or better, or permission of the instructor.
