Judaism
is a very old religion. It has always been, as all religions do, changing and
developing in new ways. The religion of the ancient people of Israel (often called
Israelites or Hebrews) is the forerunner to both Rabbinical Judaism and Christianity.
Islam claims a connection to both Judaism and Christianity based upon the Biblical
story of Abraham and his two sons, Ishmael and Isaac. We will be studying
Judaism from the Jewish perspective. It is a perspective that does not include
the story of Jesus nor that of Muhammad. You will come to understand that Rabbinical
Judaism sees itself as a complete religion (not as a religion replaced by newer
revelations from God).
