Introduction Front Page

Welcome to the first part of this course! You will have a few extra days in which to accomplish two things: read the Introduction to the text and take the WebCt quiz ("Introduction"). Now is the time to iron out any and all technical difficulties that you might encounter (it's always something). Please do not wait until the last moment! The important thing is that you show that you are up and ready to do this course. You are allowed two tries on the Introduction quiz (high score counts).

What's on the quiz? Two kinds of questions: those concerning the course syllabus, schedule, etc. (stuff on this website); those concerning basic ideas discussed in the Introduction chapter of the textbook. (It is a plot! In one quiz, I can find out if you are well-versed about the content of this website and if you own the textbook. Sneaky)

To reach the WebCt quiz: go to MCC homepage and click on "MyMCC." Login with the same user name and password that you use for MCC email. Make certain that the opening page is on the correct semester. On the toolbar above, click on WebCt. Login. Click on "Assessments" and choose "Introduction." Follow the instructions online.

Failure to take the quiz by the due date will result in your withdrawl from this course!
