Christianity was founded in Israel almost 2000 years ago. Christianity centers on the life, teachings, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus (Yehoshua, Joshua), a Jew. All the first followers of Jesus were Jews, but as Christianity grew in the second half of the 1st Century, it increasingly attracted non-Jewish converts (gentiles). Thus, Christianity has both Jewish roots and non-Jewish roots. From the Christian perspective, Christianity (in the person of Jesus) is God's full self-revelation to humanity, superseding His revelations given to Judaism.
