Lab - Microsoft Access - 140 points

  • Students will need to log into MyITLab. Remember to use Internet Explorer.
  • The assignments for the lab include online training, a downloaded project, and a quiz.
  • The online training in MyITLab uses a simulated environment.
  • The online training sessions mirror the labs in the Skills for Success lab book.
  • The downloaded projects required students to download, edit, save, and upload a file.
  • Use the Skills for Success lab book as a reference when completing the labs in MyITLab.
  • Students have 3 attempts to complete each assignment in the lab and the highest score of the 3 will be recorded.

  • Log into MyITLab
  • Click on Course Content tab.
  • Included in most folders are videos and/or Powerpoint presentations. Students are NOT required to view them; they are listed as additional references.
  • To get to the first assignment in the lab
            Click on Access 2010 - Chapters 13-20.
            Click on Chapter 13 Access - Work with Databases and Create Tables.
            Click on Access Chapter 13 Project-Based Training.
     
  • After a few seconds, the training will launch.
  • The entire desktop will be taken over.
  • You can not switch to other applications using Alt-tab.
  • After completing the training, click on Submit for grading.
  • Click on Save for Later if you need to exit and continue the training at a later time. You should be able to continue from where you left off.
  • Students should the lab book as a reference and the Show Me and Hint buttons may also be used.
    • Complete and submit Access Chapter 13 Project-Based Training inside MyITLab.
    Complete and submit Access Chapter 14 Project-Based Training inside MyITLab.
    Complete and submit Access Chapter 15 Project-Based Training inside MyITLab.
    Complete and submit Access Chapter 16 Project-Based Training inside MyITLab.
    Complete and submit Access Chapter 17 Project-Based Training inside MyITLab.

    Download, edit, and upload Access Download Assignment

    After completing all of the assignments for the lab, your instructor will transfer your Total Score for the lab from MyITLab to Blackboard as time permits.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    The way Access stores information is different from the applications we have covered so far. Before data can be entered into a database, tables must be defined. After defining the tables, data can entered, and forms, reports and queries can be created. All of the database objects and the actual data are stored together in the Access file.
