Introduction Email

For your first assignment, tell me something about yourself and why you took this class. What is your experience with poetry? What do you know about it? Why do you like it? What do you want to learn about it? Who are some of your favorite poets? (Also, if applicable, clarify how to pronounce your name.)

Finally, tell me if you have taken ENG101 and/or ENG102 and/or other ENH classes. Whether or not you have is fine; I am collecting demographic information about students' English/writing backgrounds so yours would be very helpful.

Your introduction must be:

      1. Edited for spelling and grammar (for every assignment, this should go without saying), composed in paragraphs with spaces in between, at least 200 words in length, and pasted into an email message with a subject line that fits syllabus guidelines

      2. Sent from your MCC email account by the due date (if you want credit)

A complete, thoughtful introduction that meets the above criteria is worth 15 points. For 10 points extra, attach a recent photograph of yourself. Late work does not earn credit, but it would still be nice to hear from you (and you might get the extra credit points).

Finally, after you email me, consider posting a copy of your intro to the webboard. A big part of this class is discussion, so getting to know each other early on is a good idea. After you post yours, respond to others.
