Assignment Summary:
When the rough draft is finished, edit and correct it as best you can. If you would like another student to look at it, if in the lab, print a copy and give it to him/her for comments. If at home, you can send a copy through e-mail to another student.
Offer to help any other student who wishes you to read his/her paper.
Review the sample paper SAMPLEP2a.DOC. This paper has the alternate informal title page.
Log on to your class bulletin board and write an entry telling what you found in your research about this final topic.
Post it in BB8-2nd Research Results: Subject: "Your name's" Final Research. BB5 research results was in two parts -- talking about the problems in writing the paper and teaching the subject. This is a teaching entry only, and you shouldn't shortchange the class about your subject with skimpy information.
Questions & Answers for Assignment 13-14
Copy and paste has become a big problem in research, particularly research off the Internet. Information that is lifted word for word from any source, with no citations or quotes, and no recognition to the source, is plagiarism.
You should use Turnitin.com to check to see that you have put all your general information about your problem into your own words. Using this program is up to you to check for plagiarism, but whether or not you submit a rough draft, your final paper will be submitted to Turnitin for grading. I will download the paper from there for final grading.
Since you are required to have one long quote in your paper, when you submit your paper to Turnitin.com, turn off the quoted material (a choice at the top of the report) so you get a more accurate report on your paper.
Points for BB8: 15
