Course Syllabus/Instructions

Read each assignment in the text.  References to corresponding sections in teh Arizona Constitution are intended to provide supportive material if you desire to use it.  The state constitution is the text  and can als obe accessed from teh state website.

Respond to the questions for each assignment by email to dgawronski@mesacc.edu.  Do not direct assignments to any other email address.

Make certain your address all parts of each unit assignment.  Failure to do so will negatively affect your grade.

Use the most recent edition of the text.  The Arizona Constitution is very easy to amend and has been amended regularly (approximately 150 times).  Drawing information from earlier editions can result in the submission of incorrect information.  The latest edition contains the latest changes in the constitution.

As a general guideline a response should approximate 1-2 pages, preferable double spaced.  Obviously, the more detail that is included I can answer will result in a higher grade.  Consider teh suggested guidelines as a minimum requirement.

Make certain you reply to the "Final Assignment"

For the initial map assignment there is no need to transmit a map.  Treat as a matching exercise and submit accordingly.

The course is self-paced, but do not procrastinate.  A main reason for lack of success in online courses is procrastination.  Proceed at the same pace as if you were in a regular classroom.  Try to do one assignment per week if enrolled in the regular semester.  Adjust accordingly for compressed classes during the summer and the wintersession.

I grade incoming assignments on a daily basis, including weekends.  I respond to all emials within 24 hours by reply email. 

The College has recently mandated that online courses contain fixed office hours.  As with my regular classes I am always available and continually monitor my email.  However, consider 6-7 pm Mon-Ths for issues requiring immediate response.  Any adjustments to that time, if deemed necessary, will be communicated via email Mesa Community college student email accounts. 

All assignments must be received by the ending date for the class in the published schedule.
