Philosophy of Religion
Also known as Natural Religion, or Natural Theology, the Philosophy of Religion is one of the main sub-branches of
Metaphysics. It seeks to establish the nature and existence of
God using reason alone. It does not appeal to sacred texts or
religious tradition as an authority in answering its questions.
There are four main problems that form the core of the Philosophy of Religion:
- What is God?
- Does God exist?
- What is God’s relationship to the universe (i.e., how do we account for the problem of evil)?
- What is the relationship between faith and reason?
