In Epistemology, a family of justificatory thories which hold the locus of belief justification to lie in the internal relations of ideas. There are two main Internalist positions: Foundationalism (which holds some beliefs are self-justifying and lend their justificatory status to other beliefs) and Coherentism (which holds that beliefs are held together in a large web, or set of webs, of belief).
