Caching & Reloading
We receive many requests for edits and changes to existing webpages. Often times after we respond to our customers that "The changes are complete" we get another email or phone call that says "I can't see anything different".
You are probably looking at a cached copy of the webpage. You need to get a fresh download from the server. To get your browser to "dump the cache" and get a new feed, please do the following:
Internet Explorer:
- Hold the SHIFT key when you click reload.
- Then go to TOOLS > Internet Options > "General" tab
- Click DELETE FILES under Temporary Internet Files
- Reset the Clear History number to 1 or 2 days
- Click CLEAR HISTORY
Firefox/Mozilla:
- Go to TOOLS > Options > "Privacy" tab
- Your settings:
- HISTORY should say "Remember visited pages for 1-2 days"
- PRIVATE DATA should say "Always clear private data when I close Firefox"
- Then click Settings and be sure all the following are checked:
- Browsing History
- Download History
- Saved Form Information
- Cache
- Authenticated Sessions
Safari:
- Go to SAFARI > Preferences > General
- Remove history items > select 1 day or whatever refresh you feel is best for you
Remember your office or "work" computer can be accessed by others. Protect your personal information by clearing your cache and history periodically.
