Program Location

The program is based in the city of Prague, the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic. Situated on the Vltava River in central Bohemia, Prague has been the political, cultural, and economic center of the Czech state for over 1,100 years. The city proper is home to more than 1.2 million people, while its metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of over 1.9 million. Prague is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is among the most visited cities on the continent.

Prague: A Cultural and Global Perspective offers students and life-long learners in our community a stimulating academic and cultural platform to enhance global competence in any career. This program is designed as a life-transforming experience in a location where past, present and future are evident all around. The participant experiences the opulence of the Hapsburg Empire, the austerity of the communist regime, and the vibrancy of a developing free market economy in the Czech Republic.

Estimated Program Costs

  • Program Fees:  $2,174 - Includes:
    • Academic facilities, cultural excursions, ground transportation, lodging, and travel insurance
    • Vltava River dinner-cruise
    • Unlimited pass for bus, tram or metro in Prague
    • Presentation and guest lectures by former Czech dissidents, artists and business leaders
  • Tuition: 6 credits
  • Registration Fee: $15
  • Airfare is NOT included (estimated at $1,850).
  • Meals are NOT included (estimated at $700).
  • Optional excursion to Vienna, Austria is an addt'l $260.

This program has been uniquely designed to create a perfect blend of discovering culture, architecture, history, and globalization.  Participants enjoy finding hidden gardens, having coffee at an out-of-the-way café, festivals, and various town squares throughout the city in their leisure time.  They will also savor interacting with multinational corporations and local enterprises delving into perspectives of the intricacies of global business.  Truly a blended experience and the perfect addition to any resume!
