One Day Leadership Workshop

The LeaderShape Institute

The application for the 2012 session of LeaderShape is now available!  CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE for the 2012 session of the MCCCD LeaderShape Institute. You will be prompted to create a profile and then you will see the application questions.  Upon completion, you will immediately receive a confirmation email that your application was received. If you do not receive this email, your application was likely not received.

The LeaderShape Institute is an interactive, energizing, and unique experience that builds leadership skills no other program can match. Since 1986, nearly 40,000 participants from all over the world have graduated from this nationally recognized program. But be prepared! It is six days of non-stop self-discovery and learning from practical experiences that build your leadership concepts and abilities. It's go, go, go 12 hours a day... And you'll love it! Best of all, its at no charge to you!

The 2012 session of The LeaderShape Institute will be held in June 5-10, 2012 at Central Arizona College in Coolidge, AZ.  There will also be a mandatory orientation that will take place on May 15 from 2:00-3:30 pm.

Fall Leadership Retreat

Each year the offices of Student Life & Leadership of the Maricopa Community College District host a three-day long retreat designed to strengthen the leadership, life, and wellness skills of students. The 2011 retreat takes place September 9-11 in Prescott, AZ. Please click HERE to apply by September 1.

This is a great opportunity to meet students from around the Maricopa Community College District, and learn valuable leadership skills. It is a weekend filled with fun, friends, and new things. We encourage any current or hopeful student leader to apply!

NCLC- National Collegiate Leadership Conference

The National Collegiate Leadership Conference is a student-run annual conference that serves as the cornerstone of the leadership experience and training for hundreds of college students across the nation.  NCLC 2012 "Lead Outside the Box" takes place at The University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ
February 17-19, 2012 There is no cost to you to attend, and transportation will be provided.  Please contact Student Life & Leadership at either campus for more information or to sign up!

High Ropes Teambuilding Leadership training

Student Life & Leadership offers students an opportunity to participate in a high/low ropes teambuilding leadership training workshop each year.  This experience takes place in the beautiful Superstition Mountains and is led by qualified facilitators from Educational Endeavors. This is an opportunity to learn valuable teambuilding skills while participating in a variety of games and challenges both on the ground and suspended high in the air (challenge by choice!).  To participate in this exciting experience, please contact Student Life & Leadership. 

Association of College Unions International (ACUI)

Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Founded in 1914, ACUI is a nonprofit educational organization that brings together college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries. Its members work on urban and rural campuses, in two-year and four-year institutions, and at large and small schools. They are students and administrators whose mission is to build campus community. ACUI enriches them all through education, advocacy, and the delivery of services. www.acui.org

Arizona Town Hall

Arizona Town Hall is a private, nonprofit civic organization created in 1962 to establish, through research and discussion, an ever-increasing body of Arizona citizens accustomed to the processes of searching analysis and well-informed on the many facets of the state's economic, cultural and social life.   http://www.aztownhall.org

Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF)

The Student Public Policy Forum (SPPF) is an academic program that provides an overview of local, state and national public policy making, and citizen influence and involvement. A focus is placed on experiential learning and leadership development through engagement in the public policy process.
