FEDERAL WORK-STUDY Summer 2012 Openings - Only for students who already have a FWS award or have a FWS eligibility slip
You are applying for a job! Dress, look, and act the part!
The work-study job application process is very competitive. You are applying for a real job. Dress and act like you are applying for a job, when contacting the supervisors. Be able to tell them what skills you have. There are many more students looking and eligible for the work-study program, than there are jobs available. If you need assistance with job search techniques, please meet with a Career Services Advisor.
Front Desk Receptionist/Office Clerk, Career & Re-Entry Services, $8.00/hour. Morning shift available (between 7am & 1pm, M-Th). Greet and sign in visitors, determine need and refer to advisors or assist, answer phones, set appointments, run campus errands, copy and fax, create documents in MS Office, other general office duties. Must have good communication skills and enjoy helping others. Must have good computer skills. Recycyling Collector, Occuational Health and Safety, $8.00/hour. Must have an AZ driver's license to utilize golf cart, will be doing lifting and outdoor work in hot/cold temps. Will be collecting, recycling, rolling recycle barrels. Must observe safety guidelines, be reliable, and have professional communication with employees. Flexible daytime hours, 20 hours/week. Clerk Typist, Admissions & Records Dept, $7.75-$9.00/hour. Perform comfortably in a fast-paced environment. Shredding, scanning, answer customer inquiries, follow detailed processes, procedures and policies. Ability to follow written and verbal directions, effective listening skills, abiltiy to prioritize tasks, good keyboarding/computer skills, ability to work well with a diverse student population, attention to detail and high degree of accuracy, ability to maintain professional attitude, ability to communicate policies and procedures, punctual and reliable, expereience working in an office setting, experience working in a university or college setting. FALL OPENINGS:
Looking for a FALL 2012 Federal Work Study Position?? Attend the Fall Federal Work Study Job Fair! Wednesday, July 18th, 2012, 10am-12:30pm in Room LB145 (Elsner Library). Meet the departments who are hiring and fill out an application. Come with your resume and dressed business casual. You are applying for jobs! Those who have secured a Fall Work-Study position may begin working on August 18th. Only students who are eligible to receive Federal Work Study will be admitted to this event. Financial Aid will participate to give out eligibility notices, or contact Financial Aid ahead of time for your "FWS Eligibility Notice" to avoid the line.
America Reads Tutor, Center for Service-Learning, $8.50/hour. Tutoring/mentoring youth at selected schools, focusing on reading skill development. Must enjoy wokring with youth and have passed RDG091. Hours vary depending on school or afterschool program. To apply, call Vickie Gallegos 480-461-7243.

Use the FWS Job Order Form to post your openings. Complete the form and forward to Debby Smith or Laurie Black in Career Services. Please also remember to let us know when you have filled an opening, so we can keep our records current.
