Academic and Artisan's Conference
Mesa, AZ - On April 15, 2014 the annual American Indian Academic and Artisan's Conference will be held at Mesa Community College. In a collaborative effort with MCC English faculty Eddie Webb and the American Indian Center/American Indian Institute at MCC, they will host a day to showcase artwork and academic papers by talented American Indian students and artists.
All events will take place in LB-300 (Southwest Reading Room) of the Paul A. Elsner Library on the Southern/Dobson campus. Lunch will be provided at 12:00 pm for participants and attendees.
Calling for all papers and artwork
Any student interested in participating and presenting their created works should submit all material no later than March 28, 2014. All papers should be submitted to MCC's English department located in bldg. LA 3, attention Professor Eddie Webb. All artwork should be submitted to the American Indian Center located in bldg. AD42, Room 25, attention Yvonne Dinehdeal.
Scholarships will be awarded in the following categories:
$1500 - Artist of the Year (All Media)
$500 - 1st/2nd Runners up
$7500 - total to be awarded for academic papers (All Genres)
* Current, FULLTIME student at Mesa Community College
* 2.0 GPA minimum
* Students must present their works at conference to be eligible for scholarship
