Canvas - Help!

Help! My Class is not in Canvas!

If you are unable to log into Canvas and you recently created your MEID account, or registered for classes, it may take up to 24 hours before your account information is activated in Canvas. It typically only takes 20 minutes or so, but at peak times, such as the beginning of a semester, this may be the case. If you are unable to log in and did not create your account or register within the last 24 hours and can access other student systems such as My.maricopa.edu and MyMCC, please contact the HelpCenter for assistance.

Canvas courses typically are not available for student access until the start date of the course. This is an automated feature of Canvas that displays the courses on the start date only if the instructor has published the content. Instructors may choose to publish and display the course early as well, but this is entirely at the instructor's discretion.

Most, but not all classes, have Canvas content associated with them. On-ground or in-person courses may only use Canvas for submitting assignments or providing the syllabus. If you suspect that your class should have Canvas content but the class is not listed after the start day of the course, please contact your instructor for clarification. If you do not know your instructor's contact information you can search by name using the Contacts search or click on their name in the Class Schedule list. You may also contact us during our hours of operation and we can verify if your class has Canvas content associated with it.

  • When contacting  your instructor or the HelpCenter about Canvas, please have your MEID and  class and section number information handy (for example: WST209 20820).

  • At the beginning of a semester, sometimes instructors have not yet gotten their Canvas content ready, or made their course live. Please contact your instructor for clarification.

  • PLEASE NOTE: If you cannot get in to Canvas, the best way to get help is to contact us. Do not leave a comment on this page requesting assistance, we do not monitor comments.
