Exporting your Bookmarks

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Go to the Bookmarks menu and select Manage Bookmarks.
  3. The Bookmarks Manager window should appear.
  4. Go to the File menu and select Export.You may select the location that you want to save your bookmarks. The default location is your desktop.
  5. Click the Save button to finish the export process.

Importing your Bookmarks

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Go to the Bookmarks menu and select Manage Bookmarks.
  3. The Bookmarks Manager window should appear. Go to the File menu and select Import.
  4. The Import Wizard will appear. This allows you to import bookmarks from other browsers that are currently installed on your computer, or from a previously created bookmark file. For purposes of this document, we are assuming you are trying to restore from a previously created file. Click the radio button next to From File. Click the Next button to continue.
  5. When the window appears, locate the bookmarks that you want to import. Browse to the location the bookmark file is stored - this may be a network drive, your hard drive, a USB drive, or on your desktop. Once you have located your bookmark file, double click on it to continue.
  6. The imported bookmarks will now appear in your Bookmark Manager. Close the Bookmark Manager window to complete the process.
