President, Mesa Community College

Mesa Community College has remained stalwart in our commitment and service to our students, colleagues, friends, and community for nearly 60 years.

MCC has seen enrollment steadily recover from the height of the pandemic. We continue to increase the number of post-secondary credential holders, which boosts a flourishing Arizona economy. MCC has received the national spotlight for our programs with Apple and Verizon seminars for our iBelong Initiative, as well as a campus visit by First Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden on February 13, 2023 for recognition of the Mesa College Promise. Now that the college has returned to in-person commencement ceremonies, awarding degrees and certificates, we take the time to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students.

This Report to Our Community summarizes the great work MCC is conducting around the college, which includes academics, student engagement, cultural impact, community outreach, and the impact of philanthropy. It is a collegewide effort to make these accomplishments happen. We are grateful for our Admissions and Enrollment staff, our faculty, and our support teams such as Information Technology, Maintenance & Operations, and our campuswide community. It takes hard work and dedication from our entire campus team to make Mesa Community College shine.

Our individual histories and experiences overlap when we enter MCC’s campuses. We are always inspired by the stories that connect us and the pride in our college that links us together. We are excited as we reach a pivotal moment in the landscape of higher education—where technology impacts nearly all aspects of everyday life. Industry is bolstered by a highly-skilled and well-trained workforce, and communities seek equitable opportunities to succeed.

For those of you who have supported us throughout the years, thank you. And for those of you joining us, welcome. Together, we move forward as proud Thunderbirds.
