  • How many credits will Arizona public universities accept from Mesa Community College?
  • Arizona public universities accept a maximum of 64 transfer credits. Students should take only courses that transfer as equivalent courses, departmental elective credit (DEC), or general elective (E) per the Arizona Course Equivalency Guide (CEG) in effect when courses are taken.

  • Why complete the AGEC certificate?
  • Students who complete the 35 credits in 100-level or higher courses required for AGEC certification (Arizona General Education Curriculum) with a GPA of “C” (2.00) or better are unconditionally admitted to any Arizona public university. AGEC also satisfies ALL lower division general education requirements at Arizona public community colleges and universities so students do not lose credits when they transfer. (For most majors, students who complete AGEC and specific courses needed for transfer can enter ASU, NAU, U of A, or their branch campuses, as juniors.)

  • How do I comply with Proposition 300?
  • To qualify for in-state tuition and financial assistance, students must provide documentation as proof of residency. Acceptable documents include a birth certificate, an Arizona driver license or ID card issued August 1, 1996 or later, and official immigration papers. Students who successfully complete the federal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will not need to show additional proof of citizenship. See District policies here > >
