About MCC Creative Writing
Mesa Community College's Creative Writing Program is part of the English Department. The creative writer is different from the journalist, the academic, or the technical writer. Creative writers are novelists and playwrights, poets and songwriters who write novellas, sonnets, screenplays, ballads, and more. Creative writers ignite the imagination of their audience with the expression of ideas, emotions, and of stories. They create their art with the written word. From writing mystery stories to structuring a novel to crafting a poem, the Creative Writing program at MCC will provide you with what you need to begin your journey as a creative writer.
