Classic Fairytale, Rumpelstiltskin, to Play at MCC Theatre

MESA, Arizona -- Mesa Community College’s (MCC) Theatre & Film Arts Department will debut its 2014-2015 season of plays with the classic children’s play, Rumpelstiltskin written by Linda Daugherty and directed by Kevin Dressler. The play is an adaptation of the Grimm Bothers fairy tale concerning greed and deceit when a young woman, Alana, is forced to spin straw into gold for a covetous king, by enlisting the help of a mysterious troll-like character named Rumpelstiltskin

Performance dates for this family favorite are October 10, 11, 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. and matinees October 11 and 18 at 2 p.m.  All plays will be performed at the MCC Theatre, located on the south side of the college’s 1833 W. Southern Ave. location in Mesa.

This play will also tour 12 performances to 8 different Mesa Public Schools elementary schools on Fridays during October and November as part of the Theatre & Film Arts Department’s outreach program.
