Mesa Counts on College Awards Grants - Coverage

Mesa Counts on College, an initiative funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, announced this week three projects that will receive money to increased post-secondary completion among Mesa’s youth. Mesa Community College Sets Theater Schedule

The MCC Theatre and Film Arts Department has announced its 2012-13 season at the Theatre Outback. Performances include: "The Dining Room" by A.R. Gurney in September; "Zorro (Z) or the Curse of Capistrano, an original adaptation written and directed by Oscar Giner for December;  "Caucasian Chalk Circle" by Bertolt Brecht in January/February; and "The Cripple of Inishmaan" by Marin McDonagh in April.

The number of universities calling the East Valley home is going up again with Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, Penn., signing on as the fourth college in downtown Mesa. Wilkes joins Westminster and Albright colleges in the new Mesa Center for Higher Education, 245 W. Second St. Benedictine University will have its own campus at 225 E.
