Dr. Puvana Ganesan is second year residential faculty in Communication at Mesa Community College-- Red Mountain, where she teaches small group communication and intercultural communication. She earned a doctorate in Communication (emphasis on Intercultural Communication) from the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, Arizona State University. She completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Old Dominion University, Virginia. As an active volunteer, Puvana serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Arizona’s seminal non-profit organization targeting healthcare education and disease prevention, specifically in the API (Asian Pacific Islander) community. Her research interests are in race and identity construction, critical pedagogy, and healthcare education. Originally from Malaysia, she enjoys poetry, intercultural dining, and traveling
