Review Suggestions

Because of the cumulative nature of mathematics, current knowledge of prerequisite skills and concepts greatly increases your opportunity for success in math courses. Our goal is to help you succeed the first time that you enroll in a math course and assessment of what you currently know is a very important part of helping you succeed.

We also understand that while you might have successfully completed a particular math course, some of the necessary skills and concepts might be a bit rusty. An organized review before taking the math placement test will not only help us determine the best placement for you, but it will help you be ready to learn the new concepts when you do enroll in the math course.

The following options are available:

ALEKS Learning Modules (Tutorials):

ALEKS has developed many learning modules that are aligned with the course for which you would like to prepare.

The cost is $30 for a 6 week access to the material which can be paid by either a credit or debit card. The modules are
  • Prep for Beginning Algebra
  • Prep for Intermediate Algebra
  • Prep for College Algebra
  • Prep for Precalculus
  • Prep for Calculus

It is suggested that you select the Prep for the course level you would like to test into and then work to a minimum of 80% proficiency. For example, if you want to test into Introductory Algebra then purchase the Prep for Beginning Algebra and work to at least 80% proficiency.
