Providing students with opportunities & options

The Life Science Department offers a variety of courses to satisfy the needs of MCC students.  Most of our courses satisfy natural science requirements for various degrees here and at other institutions and are easily transferred. Several courses prepare students for prehealth professional programs or the revolutionary, new field of biotechnology.  And finally, some of our courses are designed for biology majors who are planning to transfer to a four-year institution.

Academic Opportunites

Students wishing to take BIO201or BIO205 without first taking BIO181, must get Departmental approval. Please call the Life Sciences office at Southern & Dobson (480) 461-7115 or at Red Mountain (480) 654-7303 to make an appointment.  Be prepared to show your high school or college transcripts at your appointment.

Come explore the diverse world of Biology.  If you need a Biology course to complete your lab science requirement, click here to view our department's many offerings.  Remember, just because the course number is lower does not mean it is an easier class.  You should take the class that most appeals to you.
