What is the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)?
The job of a fire fighter is one of the most physically demanding jobs in North America. It requires high levels
of cardiopulmonary endurance, muscular strength and muscular endurance. The Candidate Physical Ability
Test (CPAT) consists of critical physical tasks that simulate actual job duties on the fireground. Who Offers a CPAT test?
Mesa, Glendale, Paradise Valley, and Phoenix Colleges work together to provide CPAT testing needs for fire department recruit candidates. Please visit the MCCCD CPAT website to find testing times, locations and registration information.
MESA COMMUNITY COLLEGE CPAT SCHEDULE - 2010
CPAT TEST: OCTOBER 14, 2010 (Thursday - 11:00 m)
Orientations: 8/26/10 @ 9:00 am & 4:00 pm
Practice Tests:
9/16/10 @ 9:00 am & 4:00 pm
CPAT TEST: DECEMBER 8, 2010 (Wednesday - 2:00 pm)
Orientations: 10/20/10 @ 9:00 am & 4:00 pm
Practice Tests: 11/10/10 @ 9:00 am & 4:00 pm
The CPAT Orientations and Practices are optional. Once you have registered, you are eligible to attend both orientations and both practices for the CPAT. They are provided to help prepare for the CPAT and are included in the registration cost. However, you are not required to attend any of these events to take the CPAT.

$150.00 or
$50.00 with completion of FSC 130 within 12 months
$50.00 Renewal CPAT with Mesa Community College within 12 months
