Social Work
Advisement:
It is recommended you seek Academic Advisement before declaring a major. Being certain to take the right classes to round out your core requirements, knowing your calendar year, and completing your ATP {Associate's in Transfer Partnership] 2 year degree will allow you to transfer to any of the Arizona state universities for the completion of your BSW {Bachelor's in Social Work].
You may contact me directly for program advising, review the Advisement website, or contact Melissa Turnbull, MSW, at 480-461-7212 or email: mturnbull@mesacc.edu.
Transferability:
MCC's courses in social work transfer to all state universities as university equivalent courses, departmental elective credit, or elective credit.
Students planning to transfer to schools outside Arizona should consult that school's catalog for specific transfer information or check online with Maricopa Community College's Transfer Articulation website for transfer partnerships with school of interest as well as many other useful transfer links and resources.
It is recommended that social work majors take the following CORE social work courses along with other required general education courses prior to transferring to a four-year college or university. It is strongly recommended that students take SOC101, ENG101, and PSY101 prior to taking the core social work courses..
