Lori Liang

Lori Liang Lori Liang teaches classes in clothing construction and design in the Fashion Merchandising and Design program here in the Department of Business and Information Systems. This is her first year as a full-time residential faculty member after 19 years in MCCCD. Her previous stops included the District Office and Rio Salado College. She was an adjunct faculty member at MCC for four years.

A native of Maine, Lori earned her B.A. from ASU in Clothing and Textiles in Business and her M.Ed in Education from NAU. She owns and operates her own design company, "Couture Du Jour", a partnership in Fashion Apparel and Accessories. She is the advisor to the 60-student "Fashion Focus Club", and is a member of the Phoenix Chapter of the National Sewing League.

In her spare time, Lori volunteers to assist charitable fashion shows in the local community and does local and international Church volunteer work including aid to orphanages. Her hobbies and interests include sewing, textile art, painting, reading, travel, gourmet and ethnic cooking and real estate investing. She has been a licensed real estate agent in Arizona for the past 28 years. She humbly admits she has received ribbons for artistic works in painting and ceramics and was at one time a competitive age-group swimmer.

When asked what she likes most about MCC, Lori replies, "the students, the friendly staff, and the feeling of being 'at home' here". Lori loves to travel and listed the following places among the most interesting she has ever been: Kenya, Africa; Hong Kong; Beijing and other cities in mainland China; Taiwan; and New Foundland, Canada. Lori and Kin Liang have been married for 18 years. They have two daughters: Kindra (13), and Morgan (10). The Liang's have two Papillion dogs named Louis Vuitton (Louie) and Maggie Mei (Mei-Mei), and they make their home in Mesa.
