Paramedic Training Program

The Mesa Community College Paramedic Program provides two distinct educational tracks for both limited and experienced EMT providers.

Students are prepared to become competent certified NREMT Paramedics with a high capacity for critical thinking and confidence.

Students may also earn a Certificate of Completion in Paramedicine from MCC as well as an Associate's Degree of Applied Science (AAS). The AAS Degree is transferable to all State universities.

A paramedic is a medical professional, usually a member of the emergency medical service, who primarily provides pre-hospital advanced medical and trauma care. A paramedic is charged with providing emergency on-scene treatment, crisis intervention, life-saving stabilization and, when appropriate, transport of ill or injured patients to definitive emergency medical and surgical treatment facilities, such as a hospitals and trauma centers.

Mesa Community College offers EMT-Paramedic training programs beginning every August.  Preparatory Pre-Paramedic Foundational coursework consisting of: BIO160, HCC145, EMT235, EMT236 and EMT249 is available every Spring semester and Summer session.  Student registration in these courses of study require EMT/FSC Department approval.
