The Fitness Center offers students total conditioning that features both resistance and cardiovascular exercise equipment, including:
All Lifetime Fitness faculty have degrees and are Personal Training or Strength and COnditioning Certified through the accredited organizations of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and are trained and ready to assist you with your fitness goals.
This program is designed to tone the entire body and improve cardiovascular efficiency. Individualized exercise programs are developed for you by one of our certified instructors always on duty. A total body workout can be completed in 30 minutes. Optimal fitness assessments are free and take 5-30 minutes depending on how many you choose to discuss. Choose from a variety of assessment options:
PED 115: "Lifetime Fitness" - is a two credit hour class providing students flexible access to three fitness facilities at Southern and Dobson: 1) Fitness Center 2) Group Activity Center 3) Health Improvement Center and two fitness facilities at Red Mountain: 1) Fitness Center 2) Group Activity Center.
PED 101FL: "Fitness for Life" - is a one credit hour class that provides students access to the Fitness Center and Group Activity Center only at Southern and Dobson.
PED 101WT: "Weight Training" - is a one credit hour class that provides students access to the Fitness Center only at Red Mountain and Health Improvement Center only at Southern and Dobson.
